Post Offer Employment Testing (POET)

The goal of POET is to ensure there is a match between the employer’s offered position and the employee’s physical abilities. By ensuring a ‘proper fit’ between the worker and the job, the employer eliminates almost all injuries and claims that would occur from hiring a person who is not able to perform the essential duties of the job.

Our POET services ensure a match between a new worker’s physical abilities to the demands of the job and we maintain a database of all information gathered from your employees during POET; both the physical data as well as information from completed questionnaires. This information may assist you with WSIB and LTD claims as well as issues related to the Ministry of Labour, requests for accommodation, and issues regarding Human Rights.

Our testing is unique for each position, based on the PDA, and identifies any limitations within the parameters of range of motion, strength, dexterity, positional tolerance, ability to follow instructions, cadence requirements, and all tasks specific to the job. We ensure safety by utilizing Certified Health Professionals trained in POET assessments, completing initial screening questions, taking a thorough Health history, and performing a musculoskeletal examination including Orthopaedic Testing. Mobile Insures that our POET program is reliable, relates specifically to the job, offers valid predictions of an employee’s abilities, and above all is a safe test for participation. These factors are key in meeting legislative requirements with respect to the Human Rights Commission and the Ministry of Labour.
